We are a company that promotes equality for all barrier free access, and focus on helping groups such as the elderly and the blind. We are now planning to develop an android app. The app with Bluetooth keypad will be installed in each bed in the dormitory to provide entertainment to residents. 1. User interface 1.1 The app should be fully operatable by use of keypad 1.2 Key controls includes, but may not limited to: button 1 to 3 for playing audio content type 1 to 3; button 4 and 5 for calling; button 6 for speech control. Pressing the button second time result in stop/resume. 1.3 The following is the functions name (for illustration purpose only): 1. Listen to Cantonese operas 2. Listen to the Bible 3. Listen to Buddhist scriptures 4. Call to family members 5. Call for staff assistance 6. Speech control 2. Content playback 2.1 The app play audio content and playlist hosted in HTTP server. 2.2 The app should play and resume playback for at least 3 set of audio content. 2.3 Various playlist can be setup for each set of content. 2.4 There will have multple audio files under each playlist. 3. Speech control 3.1 The app should utilize Android SpeechRecognizer for voice recognization. 3.2 The app listen to user speech command (i.e., playlist name) after a button on keypad is pressed. 3.3 The app perform the action when result match; ask user to say again when no match. 4. Video call 4.1 The app utilize native Android Call Intend to call to pre-set number. 4.2 The call action is activated by buttons on keypad. 4.3 When call end / fail, return to app UI which continue to listen to keypad key presses. 5. Status check 5.1 A screen for staff checking the status of the device & app installed in end user bed will be provided. 5.2 It shows end users' app status (idling, playing, calling, disconnected/unknown) 5.3 MQTT / ping protocal or other suggested protocal that we see fit will be used for status checking.
